Task 1

You decided to go abroad for couple of months for work. So you are leaving your rental apartment empty. Write a letter to your landlord about this issue. In your letter say

– When and where do you leave?
– Why do you go oversee?
– What do you want your landlord to do?

Write at least 150 words.

Task 2

Nowadays children use a lot of electronic devices like tablets and smart phones to do their houseworks. But some people assert that they can be the causes of distraction. Do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge and experience.

Write at least 250 words.

1.Key Expressions

Task1: 

-leave + n + a.

남겨두다, n(명사)가 a(형용사) 한 상태로.

-go abroad/ go oversea

해외로 가다.

원하다, n(명사)가 to v(동사)하는 것을.

Task2:

-distraction

시선의 분산, 방해

-I saw many children start to play game on their phones.

-It is hard for them to concentrate on their homeworks with those devices.

2.Skills

Task1: 일단, 집주인에게 보내는 편지이므로 formal한 어투가 들어가야 합니다. 특히 급한 출장(on business)을 가게되면 집 관리에 신경써야 하는 부분을 언급해주는 것이 좋습니다. 예를 들면, 가스를 확인하거나 무슨일이 생기면 연락을 달라는 얘기도 좋습니다. 

Task2: 아이들이 스마트폰 중독에 빠지게 된 것은 전세계적인 현상이 되어가고 있습니다. 이것이 아무런 문제가 안되었다면, Writing문제로 나오지도 않았을 것입니다. 이런 경우, 그런 문제인식에 공감한다, 즉 동의한다고 쓰는 것이 유리합니다. 특히 아이들이 스스로 자신을 통제할 수 있는지, 그것이 어렵다면 어떤 이유로 어려운지를 쓰는 것이 유리합니다.
